    After a lot of research, I zeroed in on A229 Plus 2CH. Most dashcam brands discount the Rear cam quality to a 1080p compared to the Front cam, which becomes the spotlight. Viofo has been thoughtful by ensuring 2K on both channels!

    Installation was relatively straightforward.

    The features are well thought out. Excellent aid via voice control. The camera quality is fantastic and the unit feels sturdy without being too heavy.

    If you’re looking for a complete package of quality, convenience and features, don’t look beyond the A229 Plus!

    After extensive research, I decided to go for the VOIFO A229 Plus 2 CH for my car. 2K resolutions for both front and rear are a great feature that other brands miss out on. The video quality and license plate readability of this dashcam is excellent thanks to the Sony STARVIS 2 Sensor.

    The features are carefully thought out. Excellent assistance via voice control. The camera quality is excellent, and the item seems solid without being very hefty. Installation was quite simple, too. I would like to VIOFO introduce their own CPL filter for rear camera too.

    Even though it seems a bit on the expensive side, if you’re looking for a complete set of quality, convenience, and features, look no further than the A229 Plus!

    Delivers superb value for money. Although the initial cost is significantly higher than the competition but the camera justifies the delta through its performance and image quality.

    Installation is very easy if one doesn`t go for hardwiring.

    Both front and rear camera are 2K which ensures that footage comes out crisp and clear.

    The app is another highlight of the whole package where one can access all the camera settings and the recorded videos through the mobile by connecting the phone to built in Wi-Fi of the camera. The app works great on IOS(no experience with android).

    The only recommendation is given the price of A229 Plus, a CPL filter should be included in the box and not be sold as a separate accessory priced at Rs. 2000, which in my opinion is steep for a CPL

    Great Dashcam. Downloading recordings from Dashcam to Phone is super fast because of 5GHz WiFi support.
    Were thinking of buying either 70mai or Qubo but after tons of research went with A229 Plus. Kind of expensive but there’s no regret. Only thing is CPL filter should be included in the box.

    Went for viofo a229 plus 2ch config as they have super capacitor and sony starvis 2 sensor.
    Price is on the higher side, but since there is no alternative with these features did not have any other option. At this price, the CPL filter should have been included.
    The installation was pretty easy, both the provided wires for front and rear cam are of sufficient length. Received 3 static stickers, 1 extra 3M pad for front, and 2 extra small 3M pad for rear and interior camera. Besides that received a trim tool.

    Overall satisfied with the purchase, no complaints as such with video quality.

    Major considerations when buying a dashcam should be: good image quality – specially at night time, safety – no lithium ion batteries, and reliability – for recording.

    For safety purpose, it’s important that the camera have a good high temperature tolerance. Particularly during summers, when car is parked in the outside. Lithium ion batteries have a bad reputation when it comes to hot environment. Because of this, dashcam should have either no power in-built or uses non-lithium solutions like super capacitors.

    It’s surprising that when first two points are considered, there aren’t many choices left.

    Sturdy Product with 1440 P resolution both at front and back camera. The videos captured are of high quality, colorful and detailed due to Sony Starvis sensors. The best thing is rear captures are as good as front captures. Phone connectivity and data transfer is superfast with WIFi 5 built in. The application is well designed, seamless and all controls can be done remotely thru phone. Supercapacitor makes it safer than other products out there considering tropical weather in India. The after sales support from Mr. Viijay has been impressive. Complete peace of mind, Strongly recommended !!

    Bought Viofo A229 plus after much deliberation.
    Pros: Capacitive battery, great pre-sales and after-sales support (Kudos to Vijay), starvis 2 sensor for both front and back camera, numerous positive customer reviews.
    Cons: Expensive compared to other options in the market.
    But comes with a piece of mind of Viofo quality and support.

    After many days of reading and watching thorough selected unpaid reviews (mostly reputed international channels) on the internet, I bought Viofo A229 Plus 2 channel.

    Cheap China brands like 70mai, Qubo, Nexdigitron, etc were always out of my list. Reasons for preferring Viofo over other international brands like Redtiger, Thinkware, Iroad, etc:
    1. Viofo dash cams record/write videos at the highest bit rate in the market. Higher bit rate = better clearer detailed videos.
    2. Viofo dash cams have better heat management than any other brand. It is a success in Arab hence suitable in Indian hot weather too.
    3. Viofo has one of the oldest history of making good dash cams. Deep roots = reliability
    4. Only company to provide 24 months warranty on cam and 12 months on accessories. More warranty means company is confident on their own product.
    5. Only brand to provide 2 K rear cam

    Reasons to choose A229 plus over other models:
    1. A229/A229 plus has better heat management than A119 Mini 2 due to size/form factor. And seamless voice commands.
    2. 2K video gives more clarity in low light/night than 4k. 4K requires proper lighting conditions.
    3. With HDR at night, videos are recorded in 30 FPS only even if camera is capable of 60 FPS. And without HDR license plates cannot be captured clearly.
    4. 4K cams heat up more due to processor getting heated due to complex processing. Video transfer, playback is not seamless in 4K.
    5. So 2K 30 FPS with HDR is the best setting for dash cams across geographies.
    Hence A229 Pro and A329 was off my list. Buy 4K if vlogging is primary purpose.

    P.S. I will use rear cam as cabin cam due to two reasons.
    1. Starvis 2 – HDR and better true video in low light
    2. 160 degree FOV
    3. Better communication between rear cam and CPU (Front cam) due to type C connector as compared to 3.5 mm AV jack. Note: Interior Audio will anyways get recorded in front cam.

    Memory Card: Use only max endurance cards. 256 GB recommended if you have 2 or 3 channel set up
