Purchased a month ago this including filters, strong build quality and working as expected.
Purchased A229 Plus. The product is solid and reliable. A very good choice in the price range.
I installed the A229 Plus 2CH dashcam with both CFL filters and a 128GB Viofo SD card. The cameras perform well, but I notice some glare during the day despite the filters.
The Viofo app on my Samsung S23 needs improvement. WiFi connectivity can be spotty, requiring manual activation each time is no a good option. A settings option for default WiFi activation, like the mic settings, would be helpful.
When connected for live streaming, my phone loses mobile network – ideally, both should work simultaneously for internet access. It'd be great if the Viofo app came pre-installed on Android Auto or had live streaming on the car's screen as an added feature.
Despite these issues, the dashcam's core functionality is solid. With some tweaks, it could be even better.
I received the VIOFO A229 Plus dash cam a few days ago, and here’s my initial experience:
Setup was quick and hassle-free, with no installation issues. I'm using a 128GB SanDisk Max Endurance microSD card, which is one of the recommended options by VIOFO (along with their own branded card), and it's been working perfectly.
Nighttime video quality is excellent, capturing clear and detailed footage even in low-light conditions. I plan to add the CPL filter soon to reduce glare during daytime recordings.
The firmware update process was smooth, following the clear instructions available on VIOFO’s official website.
I'm still exploring some of the advanced features, but so far, I’m thoroughly satisfied with the A229 Plus. A solid and reliable dash cam — highly recommended.
Video quality is as expected.
